Thoughts:
I just love the art in this book so much. The color schemes and the design of the characters is what really pulled me into the story line. The what if? idea was so interesting for me. I have always like alternative universe and this was just perfect for me.

I do say that this volume is a BIG step up from volume 0. Volume 0 for me seemed a little all over the place. The creators were just getting themselves started and I think that they really didn't know into what direction they were heading with it. But I think in this volume they knew the direction they were heading towards too. I think that they have more of a clear point of the story.

I really enjoyed the introduction of the new characters in this volume and the direction some of them went. It's interesting to see alternative characters from the original universe into a different story line and a different position or different characters playing roles into this universe.

I say give this volume a try. If you enjoyed it I pretty much say you will enjoy this series. It never hurts to try.

Thoughts: I was very confuse by this story. This was a side story that was written within the run of The Amazing Spider-Man before Secret Wars event and I was really confuse with the direction of the story.

I felt that it was just a random story that they wanted to place within the universe. It felt like it didn't have any purpose in the whole picture of the story. I recently started reading Spider-Man again and really wanted to read the current run of it and was really disappointed by this side story. Specially since I was picking them up in single issues.

We basically follow another character in the Spider-man world and have Spider-man as a side character.

I don't recommend to pick this trade up unless you are really into the Spider-man world and would like to read up on everything that is written about him. You don't have to pick this up to understand the main story of  this run. You could skip this volume.

It did have some interesting qualities in it. Like see how a person will lose their way and how justice is really not given to those who did wrong in a world that is corrupted.
