Melody 2016 Challenges

2016 will be the years of challenges for me. I really want to try and make this year as productive as I can. I would like to accomplish multiple things this year. I will be hopefully mixing and matching a lot of these challenges since there is a lot of challenges that I would like to join this year.

Challenges

I need to read more of the books that I own before buying more new books. I keep buying new books and forgetting of previous books I own. I am hoping to changing that this year. I would like to read more of the books I own prior to the beginning of the year.

My goal is to read:
Mt. Vancouver - Read 36 books from by TBR pile

I think it’s a reasonable amount of books for the year specially when I own way too many books that I haven’t read yet.

Status: 8/36

TheSeriesThatNeverEnds

This one is a long time coming. I have been reading the Anita Blake series for years and I am yet to finish it. I stopped in book 8 and never continue, even though I own up to book 16 I believe and the series is still continuing. I am hoping that this year I can finish at least up to the books I own which are still a lot in the series.

My goal is to read:
Level One - 5 - 9 books Surviving the book Tsunami

Status: 0/9

I love horror movies. I am surprise I haven’t read that many horror books. I would like to change that this year. I am hoping to read more horror novels during the year. Hopefully I can discover new authors.

My goal to read:
Brave Reader - Read and review 6 - 10 books

Status: 1/10

Writing-Reviews-Challenge
This is a goal I can hopefully complete this year. Having a consistency is an important thing for me and hopefully this challenge can bring that for me. I am hoping to post at least one review a week. Making it a total of 52 reviews. Just hoping I can meet that goal and hopefully more.

Read the Books You Buy Reading Challenge 2016 Badge

I have a serious problem. I buy and buy books and they end up being in my bookshelf for a very long time. This year will be different ( I say every year). No really this year will be different (I hope). I am hoping that this year every time I read a book I will read it right away instead of keeping it in my shelf for years. This is a perfect challenge for that.

My goal to read:
60 - 80 % Maximising Return

Status: 30%/80%

Flights of Fantasy Reading Challenge 2016 Alexa Loves Books Hello Chelly button

Fantasy is one of my favorite genre in literature. I love reading about new worlds and magic systems and this year I would like to read more worlds

My goal to read:
10-20 Fantasy novels

Status: 4/20

Every year I set a goal in my goodreads to read the total of 50 books and every year once I reach that goal I start slowing down in the reading. I am hoping that this year to change that also. I will be setting my goal of 100 books this year hoping that I continue reading until I reach my goal.

Status: 19/100

Here goes for a year full of reading and hoping I could reach my goals :D Good luck to everyone with their challenges.

  3. If you can keep reading the Anita Blake series... well, what can I say. You must really, really, really be addicted to reading. I mean, I think I forced myself through to book 15 but eventually had to stop because I just couldn't take it anymore. Gratuitous sex is one thing, but when that starts to overwhelm the actual STORY, I must bow out...

    Good luck!

    1. It get's that bad. I was thinking of stoping. But wanted to see where it went. I haven't picked up the series in a while. I did enjoyed the first 5 books in the series but then it was just getting all over the place.

      Thanks.
